Board Members

David Gardiner – Chairman

David has a PhD in Probability and Statistics. Prior to retirement in 2012, he spent over 30 years working for a major international bank, where he specialised in data analysis, risk management and IT. He held a number of senior positions in the bank, helping it to address changing regulatory requirements, and leading the development and delivery of innovative risk analysis and risk management approaches across UK, Europe and worldwide. David is a Board member for the West Cumbria Credit Union.

Susan Kearns - Deputy Chairman

Susan is a Muir resident. Her career has centred around administration and finance roles and more recently she worked with the Cheshire West Citizens Advice Bureau, supporting Money Advice and Welfare Rights Caseworkers.

Siraz Natha - Chairman of Group HR and Governance Committee

Siraz is a Policy Adviser with the Local Government Association (LGA) and brings with him a wealth of experience in project management, equality and diversity, strategy development & implementation, community engagement and fundraising. Siraz has an MBA and postgraduate qualification in leisure and service management.

Peter McHugh - Chairman of Muir Property Solutions Ltd

Peter is a consultant specialising in asset management and housing strategy. Formerly Peter was the Head of Housing and Economic Development with Denbighshire County Council and has held Executive roles with leading North West RSLs. Peter has provided consultancy services to a number of high-profile clients including DCLG, Government Offices for the Regions and Salford City Council. Peter has acted as a strategic adviser to ODPM and the Welsh Assembly Minister for Housing.

Pam Williams - Chairman of Group Audit and Risk Committee

Pam has a degree in Economics and is a Chartered Accountant. Prior to her retirement in 2015, she had more than 20 years' experience operating at Board level in a wide range of local authorities, most recently as Executive Director of Finance at Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council. Pam currently holds Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chair positions with Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and Wirral Evolutions.

Jan Chillery

Jan is a practising solicitor specialising in insolvency, business recovery and turnaround, with a degree in International Business. She is a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association and the Association of Business Recovery Professionals. She is a Partner with a leading North West law firm. Jan has formerly held positions in a cross-media publishing PLC in London and an outdoor pursuits company in Wales. She is Secretary of Chester Regatta and was formerly a Governor of a large primary school.

Robert Fleming

Robert is a director of a specialist regeneration consultancy and a Chartered Surveyor with over 25 years’ experience in property development and area-based regeneration. Robert has played a key role in determining impact and evaluation of projects and programmes for a range of public and private sector clients across the North West including Local Authorities and housing providers.

Kalyani Gandhi-Rhodes

Kalyani is an experienced social housing and charity professional who leads Oxfam's UK South Asian Engagement and Corporate Volunteering Programmes. She has 28 years' experience of working in housing & non-profit sectors, primarily in leadership roles; managing organisations and teams, planning and developing social housing and welfare services for communities, particularly Black and Minority Ethnic communities. She has a Masters Degree in Social Policy and is also a trustee at the Centre for Alternative Technology.

Helen Wordsworth

Helen Wordsworth (FCIH) is a highly experienced housing professional with many years expertise in community investment. She has worked in a variety of organisations responsible for delivering commercial projects, community and physical regeneration, strategic partnerships and procurement. Helen is the managing director of a Regeneration and Leadership consultancy.
